On the morning of April 28, Hu Jiandong, President of Mirador copper mine, met with Chen Guoyou, Chinese ambassador to Ecuador, in Quito. Chen Feng, Chinese counsellor in Ecuador, and Zhu Jun, vice president of Mirador copper mine, attended the talks.

Hujiandong expressed sincere greetings to chenguoyou, thanked the Embassy in Ecuador for its concern and support for Mirador copper mine, and focused on the situation of Mirador copper mine in the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic, giving play to the leading and guarantee role of Party building, operating in accordance with laws and regulations, labor work, etc. He said that the Mirador copper mine has created 3000 direct jobs and more than 15000 indirect jobs. In 2021, the company paid various taxes and profits of US $250 million, which effectively promoted the local economic development and better established the Chinese mining brand.
